If you are registering for Kindergarten or if you are new to Edmonton Public Schools, you must register online.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION

If your child is new to Edmonton Public Schools, you can register for school online. Visit the Division website to learn how to register for school.

Yellow bus service will be available for eligible K-6 students in Terwillegar Southwest attending their designated school. Edmonton Transit Service (ETS) is the preferred transportation service for junior high students.

APPLYING FOR YELLOW BUS SERVICE

Whether your child is new to yellow bus service or a current rider, you need to apply for yellow bus service each school year. 

The deadline to apply for yellow bus service is June 1, 2023 to make sure your child receives service on the first day of school. You can always apply for bus service throughout the year as bus routes change.

STEP 1 Contact your child’s preferred school for information on yellow bus service eligibility

STEP 2 To apply for service in:

2022-23: Complete the 2023-24 yellow bus service application form if your child needs service starting in September 2023. 

CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROL

You will need to pre-enrol on SchoolZone to tell us the school you’d like your child to attend next year. Find important dates and deadlines and learn more about pre-enrolment, which opens between March and April each year. See Link below for more information.

Final PreEnrolment Parent Information

The following students are guaranteed admission during pre-enrolment:

Resident students who live within the attendance area.

Siblings of current students who are returning to the school the following year.

Remaining spaces are filled, including when a random selection process is conducted, in the following order:

Resident students who live in the secondary attendance area, where applicable.

Resident students who live outside the attendance area.

Non-resident students subject to any other requirements as outlined in this regulation.

Please note that our school will not accept online registrations for the 2023-2024 school year before February 1, 2023. 

Children who are five years old on or before December 31, 2023 (born in 2018) may register in Kindergarten for the 2023-2024 school year.

CURRENT DIVISION STUDENTS PRE-ENROLMENT

Parents of current Division students will need to pre-enrol their child in SchoolZone to tell us the school they would like their child to attend next year.  For detailed information, click here.

Sign in to your parent SchoolZone account between March 6, 2023 and April 14, 2023 to select your child’s preferred school for next year.  Whether your child is staying at the same school or changing schools, all students need to pre-enrol. Knowing how many students to expect helps schools prepare to welcome them in September.

Junior High Options

Option/CTF Courses for the 2023-2024 School Year
 
Next year's Grade 7-9 students are now able to make their option/CTF selections for Trimester 1 (September-December). Please read through the descriptions and fees with your parent/guardian(s), before entering your choices in the Google Form. 
All submissions are due Monday, June 26 by 4 PM

Students will be given the opportunity later in the school year to select Trimester 2 & 3 options.  

While every possible effort will be made to assign students their top choices, factors such as scheduling conflicts and class-size restrictions will affect course availability.

Esther Starkman School has an open boundary with secondary attendance areasTerwillegar South East and Leger.

During pre-enrolment, Esther Starkman School accepts new students as follows: 

Guaranteed:

1.resident students in the attendance area

2. siblings of current students who are returning (regardless of residency)

Remaining spaces are filled in the following order:resident students in the secondary attendance area (if  applicable)

1. resident students outside the attendance area

2. non-resident students

A resident student of Edmonton Public Schools has at least one parent or legal guardian living in Edmonton who is not Roman Catholic.
